FARM TO TABLE:
If you love shopping at the local farmer’s markets then chances are you already know about the farm subscriptions boxes or CSA’s. Check your local area to see if you have a fresh farm to table deliveries. Here in Portland, we have a handful that delivers not only fruits and veggies but dairy, eggs, cheese, nuts, seeds, coffee, bread, and preserves.
I hate to admit it but my husband and I eat out quite a bit. Using the Hello Fresh delivery saves not only a ton of money but is much healthier than anything we can get out! The kicker is that each meal is only $9.99 but you have to sign up for at least 3 meals which are $59.94. A night out to eat for us averages $30.00. That saves money and time from not having to go to the grocery store. What else I love is they offer vegetarian options as well.
Another food delivery subscription but this one offers food that is cooked fresh by a chef and delivered fresh! For when you are really lazy and just want to warm and eat.
MOVIEPASS:
I really can’t believe that more people don’t use this! Have you been to the movies lately? One matinée ticket is $12.00. Moviepass works by sending you a card that you use to pay for the tickets at the box office. You pay $17.99 for two movies a month, find the movie you want to see on their app and go to the theater and purchase your ticket. It works with almost all of the larger movie theaters
SIGHTBOX:
Do you have vision coverage on your insurance? So many plans now do not have the vision or dental coverage. Sightbox is a unique yearly subscription that allows you to see the optometrist and get a year supply of contacts for $39.99 per month. An exam alone can run about $200 and the contacts are about $300.00. Sightbox set’s the appointment for you, get’s your prescription and sends you the contacts, all you have to do is show up at the doctor’s office. It’s great for those who don’t have $400-$600 dollars to shell out at one time
SCENTBIRD:
I.LOVE.PERFUME! Applying perfume is one of the three things I do every day no matter if I’m lounging at home or going to a fancy dinner! Scentbird has made it possible for me to try out new perfumes without having to buy the large version. Not everyone can wear every perfume. Each of our bodies chemistries react to scents differently. That’s why if you smell the perfume on someone and like it, more than likely it will not smell the same on you. Scentbird allows you to try real perfumes to make sure they work with your body.
DOT BOX:
This one is for all the ladies out there. Periods suck! With Dot box, you don’t have to worry about if you’re going to have all the essentials for that time aunt flow comes to visit. I love all the goodies that come in the box, both sweet and salty treats and something for the hair or face. Makes that time of the month something to look forward to. And at $13.99 per month, that’s not-too-shabby.
HBO NOW:
Whether it’s Game of Thrones or that new independent film about milking cows? HBO NOW is one of my essentials. If you already have an Amazon Prime account then just link them together. HBO NOW is $14.99 per month. You can get a free 7 day trial on Amazon.
COSTCO:
I’m sure that most of you don’t consider this a subscription but it is! If you only purchase your toilet paper from Costco you are still saving yourself money. For $55.00 per year, you and another person can have the world of shopping in bulk at your fingertips. Whats even better is that their return policy is amazing and you can buy a yummy hot dog for cheap!
PIA stands for Private Internet Access. You may not notice, but if you’re on any public WiFi your information is available to those who are using it. Also when you travel you may not be able to access all the information because of your VPN. For $39.95 a year you will get a private IP address which will allow you to access the web anonymously like it always should have been! Money worth spending for the added security.
A GYM MEMBERSHIP:
I think any gym membership will do! Just get one. Privately owned gyms are usually a little cheaper and offer some benefits that the bigger guys can’t.
HOME SECURITY:
Even though I live in a decent area we have our fair share of riff-raff. Investing in a real home security system is important to me on many levels. I want someone monitoring my house when I can’t. We have x-finity home. It’s not the cheapest but we love their promptness every time our alarm has been tripped.
Being diabetic sucks! Unfortunately my whole family, for the most part, is type 2. With the acceptation of my aunt and my dad who are both type 1. Purchasing all of the strips, control solution and lancets is very costly. This subscription box is only $20.97 per quarter (every 3 months). It is ideal for those who only have to test once daily.
NETFLIX/ HULU/ YOUTUBE RED:
I lumped all of these together because they are all essentially the same thing. Although they all offer different facets of T.V., movies and music experiences I feel like they are all worth the monthly fee’s.
Do you agree with my list? What subscriptions do you have that are “must have’s?” Try some of these out for yourself and see if they are as cool as I said they are!
Cheers,
