Here are my 6 ways to celebrate Halloween and Harvest festivals WHILE social distancing.
Host a Halloween or Harvest egg hunt:
Let’s face it egg hunts are fun at any time of year. This year you can set up an egg hunt for the upcoming season with some cute free printable decorations or simply purchase everything you may need from places like Amazon and Oriental Trading Company.

Go on a Scavenger hunt around your neighborhood:
Scavenger hunts are also a fun way to get out of the house and maintain good social distancing. A good scavenger hunt should take at least 30 minutes. I have created two free printable scavenger hunts for you, one a Halloween theme and the other a harvest/fall theme. If you would like to print them sign up for my free resource library.
Have a costume parade!
Everybody loves a parade and little kids are certainly no exception. If you are able to coordinate with your neighbors you could make it really fun with treats and prizes.

Knockdown the can game:
I really tried to think of a game that parents would be able to sanitize between players. I thought of the good old carnival game of knocking down the cans. You can easily tape my free printable can wraps around 10-14.5 oz empty cans. Make sure to use balls that are easy to clean with a sani-cloth!
Decorate your own pumpkin:
There are many different options for a decorating kit for pumpkins. Let one adult be responsible for giving the children the pieces that they want to keep unwanted dirty little hands off of most surfaces. I plan on using my Cricut to cut vinyl for the faces! Have stations for children to rotate thru to keep up the social distancing. A SET OF 13 VINYL DECAL PUMPKIN FACES ARE AVAILABLE IN MY ETSY SHOP.
Tailgate trick-or-treating:
While this may not be a new thing to do it is a great way to be able to trick or treat while in the open fresh air. Be smart, mask up, and keep everyone’s hands clean and sanitized. I would also recommend using a claw tool to “hand out” the candy.
You can celebrate and still be safe!
Please remember that you must obey the laws of where ever you live.
Kids have been through A LOT this year and deserve a tiny bit of normal. I believe that with a little effort you can show them that they are loved and have an awesome safe holiday!
CHEERS!
