HELLO! I’m Melissa but I also go by Lizzy.
I am an avid DIY’er. Power tools, crafting supplies, and wrapping paper are my weakness. I Love to use my nail gun and drills.
My house was built in 1953. Since purchasing the house in 2009 I have gutted and re-built the bathroom, re-finished the upstairs hardwoods twice, painted everything (BOO), and replaced all the light fixtures, outlets, and switches on my own. I remodeled the entire 1st floor…by myself. Unfortunately, I had to rebuild the kitchen twice due to a flood in 2014. Really sucked!
Crafting, wrapping gifts, traveling, and throwing parties are all a release for me.

I am blessed to have met and married an amazing man. We have been together for 30 years, and married for 25 years. He is not only my best friend and biggest supporter but also one of the sweetest and most loving people you will ever meet. He has a genuine magnetic personality. What can I say, I love the guy. (He’s also the best dumb dancer on this side of the Mississippi!)
In hopes that you get to know me better here’s a list of 15 real truths about me:
1 I love food. I live to eat, not eat to live.
2 My outlets are Crafting, DIY, gifting, throwing parties, attending church, and traveling.
3 Always looking to go on adventures like driving fast cars, surfing, traveling where I don’t speak the language, trying new cuisine from around the world, and flossing my teeth 5 times a day. Tee hee hee.
4 I’m an aunt to 10 amazing nieces and nephews. I have over 50 non-related nieces and nephews as well. How blessed am I!
5 Baking is the worst and I suck at it.
6 Pepsi over Coke, always.
7 I am a VERY patient person. I believe that growing up around immigrants has played a huge role in that.

8 I’m a huge Seattle Seahawks fan. NO, I AM NOT A BANDWAGON FAN! I live in Portland, NW teams all day baby!
9 I am an eternal optimist. To the point that I drive my husband crazy. Half glass full or empty it just depends on what’s in the cup!
10 I have been a Pediatric Dental Assistant for the past 24 years. I love working with kids. They are so amazing! I am now retired from the clinical side of the dental field and focus my time on the marketing and social media side. I’m just too old to be assisting chairside. If you know, you know!
11 I love my family and friends with every ounce of my heart. I would do anything for them and them in turn for me.

12 I have three sisters of which I am #2. Melanie, then me (Melissa), Maureen, and lastly Michelle. Yup, you read that right, all M’s. Thanks, mom and dad!??!
13 I laugh at everything even when I shouldn’t. This is not an exaggeration. It’s one of the things that my husband finds both endearing and annoying all at the same time. I’m a mix between Kitty from “That 70’s Show” and Phil from “Modern Family” and I love it!
14 I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! I start to think about it in August and start listening to Christmas music in October. Yes… I’m a cotton-headed ninny muggins.
15 I have been blessed to have traveled the world, spending almost 5 years collectively of my life in Germany and Europe. Since marrying my husband I have had the opportunity to see Cambodia and meet his family. We now own a large farm (rice, tapioca, fruit, cows, pigs, and chickens) that supports my mother-in-law’s tiny village. We have put in roads and helped with the infrastructure. As a young person, I traveled around the United States and Canada with my youth group. I would give anything to have traveling as part of my job!
