Hey there, everyone. Once again, I have been absent for far too long. My father in law is very ill, and family takes precedence over all else, so sorry for my absence, but I’m sure you can understand. Speaking of my family, one of my beautiful, amazing, smart cousins challenged me to make a copy cat of an Anthropologie diffuser. Challenge accepted. This post will give you a great base to work with, so you can build your very own unique diffuser inspired by the fantastic Anthropologie design.

How to make a botanical diffuser.
Maybe you are wondering what a diffuser is? A diffuser is a fragrance enhancing device that is usually made with oil, essential oils, and reed’s to diffuse the oil. Most of the time, it is all contained in a glass bottle. Anthropologie sell’s the diffusers for $28.00, that is WITHOUT the oil. All together for the whole set, you are looking at about $40.00 for one bottle and the oil. I am going to show you how to make on like the one shown below but of course CHEAPER!!!!!
Supplies you will need to make the diffuser are:
A glass container: Pay attention to the mouth of the vase or jar. It should be relatively narrow. Find some at your local thrift store. I paid $1.99 at hobby lobby per bottle.
Reed stick: I purchased mine from Amazon. I have tried plain old skewer sticks, but they don’t work as well. Look at these fun sticks. You can add dried flowers as well for a fun and different look. Just make sure you have enough reeds to suck up the oil so you can smell it throughout your room.
Carrier oil: I like to stay cheap and go with safflower oil. Almond oil works just as well.
Essential oil: I hate the smell of lavender! Yeah, I know it’s strange, but I think it smells like blake licorice which I LOATH! I tend to lean more on fruity smells like lemongrass, tangerine, and I add some vanilla oil to soften it. Here are some oil recipes if you’re looking for a fragrance to match a season.
Tutorial
Ideally, you want quite a bit of essential oil like a 1/3 ratio. This will ensure that your diffuser is strong smelling. After adding the oils to your jar, place your diffuser sticks in and let them sit for a day, absorbing all of the precious oil. Flip them over and let them release all of the lovely fragrances. After that, you have to flip them over once a week.
I have two other Anthropologie knock-off for you to check out.

I’m happy you like it! The diffuse sticks with the flowers is sold out on Amazon. If you look for Sola flowers you can find some cheap ones and stick them on the reeds that come with the other pack.
