I have a confession to make. It seems as though this year, I am a little obsessed about everything fall. Now, as you know, I live in Portland, OR. This year mother nature ended summer very early here, so that may be why I’m in such a pumpkin spice plaid mood (is that even a thing?) So for this reason, I made the cutest fall decor that could easily be changed all year long! Here’s how to make easy fall decorations.

So like I was saying, I “came up” with the most straightforward craft that can be changed out all year long to match the seasons or just simply your decor. All you need are embroidery hoops, scissors, hot glue, and different fabrics.
How to make easy fall decorations.
Here are the exact supplies I used: Click on the pictures to purchase.
Embroidery hoops of different sizes: I purchased two sets of these from Amazon and bought the largest hoop (14 inches) is from Joanns for $5.99 each.
An assortment of fabric in all textures and colors you love: Make a b-line for the sale area in Joanns. I bought a ton of fabric there that was super expensive at full price but was at a deep discount. And ALWAYS use coupons. I will not purchase Michales, Hobby Lobby, or Joanns without a coupon. All of the pictured fabric is from Amazon. All you need for the pack of embroidery hoops are fat quarters. You can be as whimsical or serious as you choose!
Good fabric scissors: I own a few good pairs, but all I could find were my tiny ones for this project. You do want to make sure that they are made to cut fabric. Trust me; it makes a difference.
Amazon
Hot glue: I found that a few of my fabric choices were very slippery when I tried to mount them in the embroidery hoops. If this happens to you, pull the fabric as taut as possible and apply a small bead of glue all around the circumference of the hoop, little-by-little. Work your way around until the fabric is tight.
A craft that is easily changed year-round.
Seriously how cute are these embroidery hoops? I love them! They can be changed out so quickly too. So after you decide to change out your fall decorations, you can change them into a permanent display somewhere in your house.
Are you wondering about the yarn on the front of the mantel? It is just two skeins of yarn. I purchased them both from Joanns. The mustard color yard in by Big Twist natural blend yarn ($5.62) and the cream yarn is Bernat Alize EZ Wool Yarn ($11.99). Do you want to know how I made the pom-poms or tassels? Leave comments below if you want me to make a tutorial!
