Hi family! I hope all of you have been well and happy. I feel like I endlessly apologize for the lack of content but again here I am apologizing! Sorry for the lack of blog posts, Youtube videos, Instagram posts, Pinterest pins, Tweets, and Tiktoks. As you know from my last post my husband had a widow’s maker heart attack in February and it has taken over our life (rightfully so) and I had to re-prioritize to help with his recovery. Now, I am taking a moment out of my day to quickly share my non-spooky Halloween decorations that I felt like I had to make this year.

Non-spooky Halloween decoration ideas
Those of you who know me know that I have never celebrated Halloween in my entire life, and I still don’t. However, I came across a picture on Amazon of Frankenstein blowing a bubble and I just couldn’t stand how much I fell in love with it. The only issue is that it was only an 8×10 AND it is illegal to make a picture for sale of someone’s copyrighted photos. I also was not going to purchase something I could make for free and have printed it myself!
If you want to make this photo your self all you have to do is google pictures of Frankenstein and a bubble gum bubble PNG choose the one you like the most. Then upload it into your favorite photo editing software. I used Canva for this picture but I also love Picmonkey. Canva is free to use and it’s relatively easy for brand-new users.
Simply upload the photo of Frankenstein and the bubble of your choice into Canva. Select a canvas size for a poster. I did a little research about where I would have them printed and settled on a Canvas size of 24 inches wide x 36 inches high. Then just add the photo of Frankenstein and the bubble over his mouth and download it to your computer so you can send it off to print. I had mine printed at Office Depot. They always have coupon codes! The original price was $30.49 for the print, I had a 40% coupon code, so I paid just $18.30.
Now you can decide how you would like to decorate the rest of your space. For me, I wanted a candy theme but I wanted it to look like a cartoon. Honestly, I almost felt bad decorating with a candy theme! My dental assistant heart is so strong. LOL.
You can DIY all of this on your own!
I decided to cut some shapes out with my Cricut and used thick acetate as the primary surface to apply my decals. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Cricut to make these candy jars and containers. All you need is the acetate paper, colored paper, glue, and jar image files. You can find all sorts of free-to-use files on Pixabay. Just search for mason jar illustrations and the like.
That is as simple as it gets for me. Additionally, I added a few pumpkins that I decorated with some fun candy corn decals. Because I am not a Halloween celebrator it was important for me to just have a fun non-spooky vibe.
Please make sure you are subscribed as I will be posting a free “you’ve been booed’ set along with an alternative for those that don’t celebrate the holiday. I hope you and your family have a very happy and safe Halloween!
